A welcome from Kimie J.
I grew up in Utah, United States and learned to love education and tutoring others from a young age. I started teaching piano in Middle School and Math after High School. This has led me to meet many wonderful people and want to continue teaching now that I have graduated from college.
Teaching philosophy
My teaching philosophy is that every student is valued and can learn. Too often students are held back or left behind in the group classroom setting and then left to believe it is their fault. I love one-on-one instruction because it has the power to meet students where they are.
Learning approach and specialties
I teach in a simple, non-overwhelming way that aims at getting to the root of what is causing a student to struggle. I like to teach, work example problems, and then have the student work problems all while keeping an open door to communication.
