Mathematics does not develop as a collection of isolated courses. Fractions influence algebra. Algebra influences functions. Functions support trigonometry and precalculus. Those ideas become prerequisites for calculus, statistics, linear algebra and more advanced mathematics.

Algebra I

Learning to Represent Relationships

Algebra I teaches students to represent situations with expressions, equations, functions and graphs — and to move between those representations.

Geometry

Reasoning, Proof, Shape and Space

Geometry is the course where students learn to justify. Alongside shape and measurement, it teaches deductive reasoning and formal proof.

Algebra II

Extending Algebra Into Advanced Functions

Algebra II deepens students' understanding of functions and prepares them for precalculus, statistics and advanced mathematics.

Trigonometry

Angles, Circles and Periodic Reasoning

Trigonometry connects triangles, the unit circle and periodic functions, and supplies much of the machinery precalculus and calculus rely on.

Think-Nth curriculum maps describe the mathematics our educators may support. They are designed to help students and families understand how mathematical ideas connect across courses.

Course sequences, standards, examination specifications and topic names vary by school, university, state, country and examination board. Tutoring is therefore aligned to the student's actual course materials and current official curriculum whenever applicable.
