Fall 2026 —book free consult
Family handbook

Your first 30 days.

Enrolment is the start, not the finish. This is what the first month of Think-Nth tutoring actually looks like — week by week, what we need from you, what you will receive, and how to judge whether it is working.

Students engaged in online mathematics learning
  1. Week 1

    Setup and the first session

    • You receive portal access, your educator's name and the confirmed weekly time slot.
    • Send us the student's syllabus, textbook edition and next assessment date — this is the single most useful thing you can do.
    • The first session is diagnostic in feel: the educator works with the student on real course material to see where the reasoning breaks down, not just which answers are wrong.
    • A session note lands in the portal within 24 hours: what was covered, what was practised, what needs reinforcement, and the focus for next time.
  2. Week 2

    The plan takes shape

    • The educator sets out sequenced priorities for the program — the prerequisite gaps to close first and the course topics to keep pace with.
    • Practice between sessions begins, sized to the student's week rather than to a fixed quota.
    • Expect the student to feel the work is harder, not easier, at this point. That is normal: we are asking them to start problems independently instead of following a worked path.
  3. Weeks 3–4

    Evidence starts to appear

    • The first graded work since starting usually lands here. Share it, including the disappointing ones — the errors are the useful data.
    • Session notes begin to show pattern-level observations rather than topic lists: which error types are disappearing, which are stubborn.
    • If the fit is not right, this is the point to say so. A rematch inside the first two sessions is free, and after that we still review it.
  4. End of month one

    Review and adjust

    • You get a progress summary: current goals, progress made, remaining challenges, attendance and engagement, and recommendations.
    • We adjust the plan — pace, focus, session frequency — based on what the first month actually showed.
    • Realistic expectation: confidence and independence usually move first; grades typically follow over a term, not a month.
Practical answers

The things families ask in month one

How do I reschedule a session?
Use the link in your confirmation email, or email us. Twenty-four hours' notice or more is free of charge; see the cancellation policy for late changes.
Can I contact the educator directly?
Academic questions belong in the portal and in session notes so they stay part of the student's record. Scheduling, billing and any concern about fit come to Think-Nth, not the educator — we manage the relationship so you never negotiate with a tutor.
What does the student need for a session?
A laptop or tablet with a stable connection, headphones, their textbook or notes, and something to write on. A stylus or graphics tablet helps but is not required — the shared whiteboard works with a mouse or trackpad.
What if my child misses a session?
Tell us as early as you can. Sessions cancelled with 24 hours' notice return to your package. Illness and school emergencies are handled sympathetically.
What if a session runs into a topic the educator doesn't cover?
Say so. Think-Nth matches on subject expertise and level, and we will move the student to a better-suited educator rather than stretch a match that isn't right.
Who do I contact about billing?
Email info@think-nth.org or call +1 484-761-0224. Billing is handled by Think-Nth, never by an educator.
